This study aimed to monitor the reality of technology integration in secondary schoolsinRiyadh from theviewpointofschoolprincipals through understanding the objectives of technology integration, in addition to record the reality of technology equipments in schools and to measure school principals’ trends and attitudes toward integration of new technology in their schools.
On the other hand, this study attempted to determine the barriers and obstacles that prevent the best implementation oftechnology integration and its application in schools.
The researcher designed survey for the purpose of this study and then it was evaluated by professors specializing in the field of educational technology.
The survey have been distributed to 129 principals whereas (77) male and (52) female during the first semester of (14292008-2007), (1428-) The results of the study as follows: • Statistically significant differences were attributable to the expertise for the benefit of the sample (less than ten years).
• Observed the positive trends towards integration of new technology among the study sample.
• Lack of teachers training and awareness of the importance of the integration are the most important obstacle for implementation and integration of new technology.
• The physical environment is appropriate for technology integration in schools where most schools have enough equipment, computers, and educational software.
• Most of the participants use (traditional devices and applications) (80.6%), while only some of the participants (4.7%) use new applications (for example, the use of the Internet) Research recommendations include: 1.
Dissemination of culture techniques and computer education through seminars and publications between students and teachers.
2.
Hold training courses for teachers and teachers in-service about how to employ the techniques of modern education and production of educational software in different disciplines.
3.
In the area of research: further studies on the application of technology integration, e-learning in particular.
