This study investigated 125 EFL teachers' perceptions of alternative assessment tools in the second semester of the academic year 2007/2008, It addressed the following questions: 1 - What are tenth grade EFL teachers' perceptions of alternative assessment tools used in their classes? 2- Do tenth grade EFL teachers' perceptions vary according to their gender, qualification, and years of teaching experience? The results revealed that the grand mean of all of the dimensions was 3.47 which is a moderate mean which indicates that EFL teachers were satisfied with the use of alternative assessment tools.
The results also showed that there were no significant interactions between the teachers' gender and their qualifications, the teachers' gender and their experience, or between the teachers' experience and qualifications, Moreover, the results showed that there were no significant differences in the EFL teachers' perceptions of the alternative assessment tools regardless of their qualifications, experience, and gender.
The study recommended increasing the use of alternative assessment EFL classes.
It also recommended carrying out more training for EFL teachers on the use of alternative assessment tools.
