يشكل الخطاب ظاهرة في عالم التواصل الإنساني من خلال التمظهرات المتعددة له في كل لسان و على مر الأزمان، و الخطاب اللغوي نص مهما اختلف في اعتباره كذلك من عدمه.
لأن المتخاطبين إنما يتداولون موضوعا و مادة محسوسة و واضحة المعالم و الحدود، و هو ما يضفي صفة النصية على أي خطاب إنساني و إن كان شفويا.
يتناول البحث النظريات التي تتعامل مع النص اللغوي باعتباره خطابا إلى الآخر تتظافر فيه الآراء الاجتماعية و النفسية و اللغوية لتفسير محتوى الخطاب و بالتالي استخدام هذه النتائج في عملية تدريس و تعلم اللغات.
