Abstract EN
series of new 5-(substituted biphenyl-4-yl)-3-(methoxyphenyl)-1-methyl-1H-1,2,4- diazoles (5-15) were successfully synthesized by Suzuki coupling between 5-(4-bromophenyl)-3- (substituted methoxyphenyl)-1-methyl-1H-1,2,4-triazoles (3 and 4), which were used as key intermediates for the synthesis of our targets, and the appropriate bubonic acid.
The new synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H, 13C-NMR and mass spectrometry.
The antioxidant properties of the newly synthesized 1,2,4-triazoles have been studied for their ant oxidative activity using metal ions (Fe3+ , Cu2+ ) and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging.
Compound 14 showed the highest antioxidant activity.
