Abstract EN
This study sheds light on the notion of equivalence and its significant role in translation.
At first, types of equivalence have been thoroughly defined and analyzed in light of some previous studies in this aspect.
This study not only demonstrates, with sufficient illustrative examples, many lexical, structural and cultural gaps arising when translating from English into Arabic, but it also provides practical solutions for bridging these gaps.
The offered strategies have been empirically tested and shown high level of reliability and consistency, conditioned they are applied reasonably and proportionally
