English Abstract
In this thesis, the Mickens non-standard method is implemented on the implicit Euler method for solving a class of initial-boundary value problems of space fractional partial differential equations with variable coefficients.
The case when left-handed and right-handed fractional spatial derivatives may be present in the partial differential equation is examined.
The fractional derivatives are defined in Riemann-Liouville sense.
Results obtained using the scheme presented here show that the Mickens non-standard method is very powerful and efficient technique in finding numerical solutions, and it increases the accuracy of the solutions.
The Mickens non-standard discretization method, discussed here, can be widely implemented for classes of fractional differential equations.
