English Abstract

The fuzzy control theory, which relies on the fuzzy logic, has been successfully applied to the control of a large variety of nonlinear processes.

The main idea of using fuzzy control is to design a suitable fuzzy controller for the YAMAMA15 unmanned aircraft.

It presents the design and behavior-based control architecture for an autonomous unmanned aircraft, for longitudinal displacement autopilot.

The mathematical model of the unmanned aircraft pitch channel is computed with the servo actuator model, which represents the plant transfer function.

The discrete model of the plant has been computed and analyzed by using the discretization techniques.

A controller based on fuzzy logic methodology has been designed for unmanned aircraft that enables it to track the altitude control for safe flight.

Several types of controllers are considered, the first is the classical PD controller, the second is the PD-fuzzy controller, and the last was the fuzzy model reference learning control.

The software programming is used to simulate the behaviour of the control systems with several input types for purpose of evaluation and comparison.

Simulation results show that fuzzy model reference learning control provides better performance than fuzzy PD controller and classical PD controller.
