English Abstract
Collaborative computer-based information systems have become a major trend in today’s business environment.
In recent years, firms have made massive increases in Web-based application investments, reaching into almost every aspect of organizational work.
Given the enhanced capabilities offered by Web technologies and the relative cost advantages of Web systems, many firms are deploying Webbased supply chain applications. Although the benefits and prominent successful applications of using Internetbased technologies in SCC is well documented, many studies concluded that the Web-based SCC is still limited, beyond the expectations, and the adoption rate is still unsatisfactory.
There for, firms need to identify and understand the critical success factors and outcomes of Web-based SCC, and address them effectively to ensure that the promised benefits can be realized and failures can be avoided, and to encourage top management toward more collaboration with business partners using Web-based technology. Questionnaire survey method was used to collect primary data from the manufacturing firms in Jordan that use Web systems to collaborate with supply chain members.
Structural equation models (SEMs) are used in the research to explore the CSFs and oucomes of Web-based SCC, and the direct impact CSFs on oucomes of Web-based SCC.
Exploratory factor analysis and structural path analysis using EQS were performed to analyze data collected. The results showed that Top Management Support, IT Infrastructure, Training and Education, BPR, Trust among Chain Members, Open Information Sharing, and Performance Measurement are critical factors for Web-based SCC implementation success.
In addition, this research found that Web-based SCC implementation success is positively related to Supply Chain Relationship Quality, Performance Effectiveness, and Performance Efficiency.
The empirical results are highly support the relationship between the CSFs and outcomes of Web-based SCC.
