English Abstract

Performance management can be carried out in many ways.

A mixture of internal mutual benchmarking and external―best practice‖ benchmarking has shown to be an essential power among the health organizations.

Without a link from employee motivation, the organization’s performance outcomes, measures will have little value.

The present study surveyed private hospitals in conjunction with benchmarking and motivation initiative focused on accredited and or in the process to be accredited hospitals in Amman/ Jordan.

Overall, the results indicated that the hypothesized performance management drives were positively related to benchmarking and motivation outcomes; α value (0.004) reflects the importance of the relationship between the five dimensions of performance and the benchmarking conjoining with motivation was a very good contribution.

In addition to that, there was some evidence indicating that a hospital’s orientation to both variables may impact the proposed value.

However, the nature of this relationship still needs further study.

Overall, this study provides a frame work from which other researchers can continue to examine the impact of benchmarking and motivation on hospital performance management.
