English Abstract

The work in this thesis deals with two main aspects related to the Nonlinear Differential Algebraic Control Systems (NDACSs). First, the exact feedback linearization problem tor index one NDACSs is investigated based on Partial Differential Equation PDE tools.

In this case, the problem is equivalent to solve a system of first-order quasi-linear singular PDEs.

The sufficient condition for solvability of this problem is derived by using Lyapunovs auxiliary theorem.

This approach avoid the involutivity conditions.

The design procedure can be executed by using a symbolic software package of MAPLE (13).

The approach is illustrated in example. Second, the observer design tor index one NDACSs is investigated based on PDE tools.

The formulation of the problem is realized via a system of first-order singular PDEs.

The set of necessary and sufficient conditions for solvability is derived by using Lyapunov's auxiliary theorem.

The solution to the above system of PDEs is locally analytic and this enables the development of a series solution method, and it can be easily implemented with the aid of a symbolic software package o f MAPLE (13).

The approach is illustrated in example.
