The aim of this research is to test the relationship between a selected organizational and personal determinants and job satisfaction amongst the academic staff in Al Azhar University–Gaza.

A descriptive analytical methodology was used in this research where a survey (questionnaire) was designed and distributed to a random sample of 200 academic staff working in the university.

The response rate was 64 % as 128 staff members filled the questionnaire.

The research concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between organizational factors (The work itself, pay, supervision, co-workers, and promotion) and job satisfaction amongst academic staff in Al Azhar University- Gaza.

The research also concluded that there is a statistically significant difference amongst the academic staff in Al Azhar University–Gaza toward the job satisfaction due to educational level in favor of the postgraduate respondents and due to years of experience in favor of the respondents with experience from 8-less than 12 years.

It was however concluded that there is no statistically difference amongst the respondents due to gender.

The research offered many recommendations that focus on improving all the organizational factors that affect job satisfaction such as the work itself, pay, supervision, co-workers, and promotion.
