English Abstract
This study aims at investigating the effect of accents on the listening comprehension of students in Teachers’ Training Institutes.
The sample was selected from Majd al-Arab Higher Teacher’s Training Institute.
Data was collected by reliable and valid instruments.
These tools were : 1-multiple-choice test 2-cloze-test.
The statistical analysis indicated that there was strong relationship between accents and listening comprehension.
Findings were discussed in the light of the hypotheses and implications.
Conclusions were drawn out, recommendations were stated and suggestions for further research were offered.
