English Abstract

This study is carryout to analysis of students’ spelling errors.

A case study of the students of first year at secondary schools.

The target population of the study is the first year students at Albulk Geographical Secondary School.

This study is carried out to discover the real factors cases students' spelling errors, and find out a solution for it.

To achieve this goal fifty students of first year from Albulk Geographical School are chosen for two spelling tests (pre-test) and (post-test), after the pre-test students, were taught spelling rules and vowel sounds for two weeks then they had post test.

The study adopts the descriptive approach and uses experimental techniques.

After the “pre and post” test the papers were carefully marked then the errors of the two tests were analyzed by using a scientific calculator, and the statistical packages for social sciences “SPSS” analysis.

To test the hypotheses of this study, the researcher used t-test to makes comparison of the students performance in the two test (pre-post) the main findings are most spelling errors are due to a mission and addition of vowel letters, and spelling rules.
