English Abstract
Ethnography is known as a scientific approach to study human culture and provide analyzed results for different usage.
A challenge that rose with time was the fact that in order to do ethnography an ethnographer, a person who monitors other people, is needed to observe the behavior of participants and provide the results.
In this thesis we propose a methodology to autonomously detect and analyze the body language gestures to estimate the level of interest of a participant during ethnography.
Furthermore, an expandable software framework that incorporates this methodology in its business logic is introduced and discussed.
The proposed methodology and framework have been evaluated through a usability study, where the results have shown promising findings and great potential for consideration in contributing to the concept of undercover and automated ethnography.
