Abstract EN

This study aimed to promote a culture of dialogue among undergraduate students to be positive participants in their university and community.

It also aimed to find out the differences in the views of faculty members about the reasons to promote a culture of dialogue among students in terms of gender, college and academic rank.

The tool of the study was a 16 item questionnaire distributed on four dimensions.

The questionnaire was checked for reliability and validity.

The population of the study consisted of all faculty members in the colleges of education and society, science and pharmacy at the University of Taibah with a total of (223) male and female.

A random sample of (187) faculty members (male and female) were selected representing about 84% of the population.

After the application of the study tool on the sample and conducting the necessary statistical treatments, results showed the approval of the sample with a high degree on all the reasons to promote a culture of dialogue among students in Taibah University.

On the other hand the results revealed that there are no statistically significant differences in the views of faculty members towards the reasons to promote a culture of dialogue among students in terms of genders, while there are statistically significant differences in the views of the sample towards the reasons to promote a culture of dialogue in terms of academic rank variable (in favor of professors) and in terms of the college variable (in favor of College of Education).
