استخدام استراتيجي سميث Smith و باير Beyer و أثرهما في تنمية التفكير الناقد و اتجاهات طالبات الصف السابع الأساسي نحو مبحث التاريخ

Abstract EN

This study aims at using Smith and Beyer Strategies to know their effect on the development of the seventh grade female students critical thinking and attitudes towards the history subject.

The researchers developed three instruments: study plans for the unit of the history textbook according to Beyer and Smith strategics of critical thinking, and an attitude scale toward the history subject matter, and a critical thinking test.

The study sample included three groups with (20) students each ; whereas the first group (the control group) was taught by the ordinary method, meanwhile, the second group (the Is* experimental group) was taught according to a developed unit based on Smith strategy of critical thinking and the third group (the 2nd experimental group) was taught according to a developed unit based on Beyer strategy of critical thinking.

Means standard deviations and ANCOVA have been used.

The study reached the following results : (1) There were statistically significant differences between the two experimental groups and the control group in the critical thinking, in favour of the experimental groups (Beyer and Smith strategies).

(2) There were statistical significant differences between the two experimental groups and the control group in their attitudes towards the history subject, in favour of the experimental groups and between Beyer strategy and Smith strategy in favour of the Smith strategy.

(3) l he two experimental groups students who have been taught by using Beyer and Smith strategies got higher grades more than students of the control group.

(4)Thcrc were statistically significant differences between the experimental groups and the control group in attitudes towards the history subject, due to using Beyer and Smith strategies.
