This study aimed at discovering, the relationship between achievement motivation and secondary school students’ achievement at Salt city in Jordan.
The study sample included 441 students (210 male, 231 females).
The study found that student’s achievement motivation was high with regard to the major dimensions taken by this study; which are students’ having a goal to achieve and persistence.
On the other hand, results revealed student’s motivation towards the dimension of “ambition” was weak.
Results further showed that there were significant differences in students' achievement motivation due to academic achievement; students who passed showed more motivation rather than students who failed.
Also, Results showed there were no significant differences in students' achievement motivation due to sex.
