English Abstract
The study aimed at investigating the effect of using (Know, Want and Learned) strategy on improving reading comprehension of eighth grade students at Ma'an governorate.
The sample of the study consisted of (100) male and female students distributed into two groups; the control group consisted of (50) students, and the experimental group of (50) students that was randomly selected.
To achieve the purpose of this study, a reading comprehension test was used to measure the students' performance before and after the treatment.
The results of the study showed that there were statistical significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in reading comprehension due to the use of K.W.L strategy in favor of the experimental group.
The results also, showed that there wasn't a statistical significant difference in reading comprehension due to gender (male and female).
In light of the results of the study, a set of recommendations were suggested; the need to embrace the (K.W.L) strategy in the educational process.
