Abstract EN

Background : Human beings need to have healthy livers to break down the chemicals that have crept into our environment.

More than 50% of people over the age of 50 have fatty liver, common causes are incorrect diet, excessive alcohol intake and adverse reactions to drugs and toxic chemicals and viral hepatitis.

The modern-day medicine has become sidetracked into treating the symptoms of diseases and not the causes.

Medicinal drugs affect the liver and may lead to adverse effects.

Aim and Methods: The aim of the present study was a trial for using natural products like honey bee, royal jelly, pollen grains and black seed oil in treating liver fibrosis that results from chronic alcohol intake as a model for liver fibrosis.

Results and conclusion : This group of natural products have good effects on the antioxidant defense system via increasing protein biosynthesis in the injured liver which in turn stimulate liver tissue regeneration and accordingly increase the activities of enzymes that scavenge free radicals resulting from oxidative stress and lead to liver fibrosis, and this open the future for using natural products in treatment of liver fibrosis without any side effects.
