Abstract EN

This study seeks to analyze the problems non-native Arabic language learners face when learning (Arabic) sounds.

It revolves around two main interrelated themes.

The first theme is a general study of Arabic Language curricula for non- native speakers in terms of approach, effectiveness in conveying the language to non-native speakers, and the areas generally lackingin curricula.

The second interrelated theme is more specific; it focuses on studying sound-related materials in the curricula .

Furthermore, the study aims to identify the various steps that the curriculum should following teaching sounds, the bases on which the study material is chosen; this, in order to highlight the important role sounds play in Arabic language acquisition by non- native learners
