English Abstract
This study aims at investigating the problems that Arab learners of English encounter in interpreting the English sentences with null auxiliaries.
It has been realized that Arab learners of English face problems when dealing with such type of sentences.
A test- as a part of experimental method- was designed to collect data to arrive at a comprehensive understanding to the problems of interpreting the English sentences with null auxiliaries.
The sample of study consisted of forty undergraduate students selected randomly from English Literature Department at Mu'tah University in Jordan.
In the test, the students were asked to mark the sentences with "Right" or "Wrong" then to correct the wrong ones. The findings of the study revealed that Arab learners of English encounter serious problems while dealing with null auxiliary sentences since they were not familiar with such type of sentence.
It seems that Arab learners of English are not aware of auxiliary verb deletion in such sentences
