English Abstract

The main goal of this work is to find an approximate solution for projectile motion equation with and without air resistance using Laplace Decomposition method.

We proposed two forms of equations to describe the motion of a projectile ; an ordinary differential equation and fractional differential equation.

For the ordinary differential equation , the maximum height for the high orders for the nonlinear projectile motion equations were obtained using integral calculations.

For the same equations we got a general formula for the solution for high orders of nonlinearity using Laplace Decomposition Method.

The obtained solutions were plotted through programmatic of the Mathematica 6 edition.

From the Figures we studied the effects of the order of the nonlinear term , the value of the proportional factor and the mass of the projectile on the time needed to reach the maximum height.

In the second part we used Caputo definition to write fractional projectile motion equation and used the fractional Laplace Decomposition method to solve this equation.

Also we generalized the solution for any order of nonlinearity.

Then we plotted these solutions and studied the effect of the change in the fractional value on the behavior of the projectile.

Finally, we compared the results between the classically case and fractional case.
