Abstract EN

The study aims to identify the role of Mosque press in forming the political awareness through reviewing the most important issues addressed by theses newspapers as well as the political values treated or published.

This study belongs to the descriptive analytical researches.

The researchers used the survey and comparative approaches.

In the framework of survey studies they used the content analysis approach.

The study data were collected through the content analysis questionnaire.

The study depended on the agenda theory in analyzing study results/outputs.

The newspapers sample included two newspapers: Sawt El-Morabiteen and Neda' Al-quds news paper.

The timeline of the sample extended from January 2013 till December 2013 which were selected intentionally/deliberately .

The Most Important Results of the study.

1- The study indicated that the mosque press in Gaza Strip (study sample) focused on issues related to partisan conflicts such as (the political pursuits amongst the members of the different political parties).

2- The study showed that the aim of the mosque press is to enhance involvement in political life through developing the political awareness aspect.

3- The study confirms that mosque press plays a role in developing the political awareness through introducing news contents which have certain political attitudes that become clearer through the aims and values it works to achieve through the study sample.
