Abstract EN

This research aims at finding out the possible relationship between logical reasoning and problem solving.

The sample of the study consists of 150 third year students, males and females, from the Psychology and Counseling Departments, in the Faculty of Education, Damascus University.

The research postulated that logical reasoning performance has a positive correlation with problem solving.

The research also tried to answer the question: Are there any differences in logical reasoning and problem solving that result from the following variables: gender, high school certificate, specialization.

The results show the following: there is a positive correlation between logical reasoning and problem solving; the gender factor also has an effect on logical reasoning and problem solving; the high school certificate factor also has an effect on logical reasoning and problem solving; the specialization factor, however, did not have any effect..
