Abstract EN

This article attempts to explore some dimensions of the concept of LA (Learner Autonomy), and tries to provide a foundation for its implementation in English language teaching.

It reviews several definitions of the concepts related to it as well as their connex research areas.

In the attempt to highlight the particular aspects of Learner autonomy, the theoretical framework will concentrate on autonomy definition from a psychological, a political and socio- cultural perspectives.
