Abstract EN

Success or failure of any educational system may refer to different sources or reasons including; human and material ones.

The present research paper deals with Algerian context and focuses on important factor “teacher training” that its presence or absence affects positively or negatively teaching then learning processes respectively.

Deeply, improving the quality of education in Algerian schools and institutions needs a strong basis that teachers; as primary agents of education and significant classroom partners, start from and refer to in their professional development.

This basis can be primarily and likely seen through teacher training that its programs and its effectiveness are still under question in Algerian context despite the number of reforms adopted by the National Ministry of Education.

The aim of this document is to raise the curtain about the journey of EFL teacher education in Algerian institutes in charge of with reference to theoretical and practical forms of such training and their significance in producing qualified teachers who are able to draw paths for achieving successful learning process ;especially with the unsatisfied learners‟ results.
