The study attempts to analyze and measure the nature of the relationship between the exchange rate (USD / EURO) and the price of crude oil (WTI) for the period 1999-2017.
The goal of the study is to determine the behavior of oil price against changes in the exchange rate both in short and long terms and to depict the capability of the oil markets to maintain stability in cases of shocks in the euro-dollar exchange market.
The research adopts a set of statistical tools represented by the Engel-Granger cointegration test, error correction model, as well as Causality test for granger and the correlation coefficient.
