Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying the attitudes of social workers working with cases of GBV by examining their attitudes towards the concept of violence, its causes, forms and the theories used to deal with it.

In addition, the study examined the impact of some social variables of the Social Workers affecting their attitude towards violence The whole community included social workers working in the social work offices in the Department of Family Protection, housing establishments and the welfare centers under the umbrella of the Ministry of Social Development in the cities of Amman and Zarqa.

The study used the sample survey approach for the institutions, and the comprehensive sample survey all members constituting (50) specialists both men and women The study found that the attitudes of social workers toward GBV were positive, with an average of 3.65 and a standard deviation of 0.45.

All of the fields were positive, where the “Built Knowledge” and “Causes of violence” came first, followed by “effects of violence and treatment approaches of violence cases”, and “forms of violence” came last The results of the study also revealed a statistically significant differences at the level (0.05 ≥α) for the trends of social workers towards GBV based on gender variable favoring males.

Moreover, statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05 ≥α) didn’t occur on the attitudes of social workers towards GBV based on educational level, number of years of work experience and training.
