Abstract EN

The study aimd to identify the level of psychological stress and its relation with depression and job satisfaction among doctors and nurses in amman city.

The study Sample consisted of (474) male and female doctors and nurses.

to achieve the purpose of the study, three scales were used: beck depression inventory, and two othre scales : sources of stress scale and job satisfaction scale were translated to arabic and developed to suit the jordanian enviromant The results of the study showed that the level of psychological stress among doctors and nurses is moderate.

the major sources of stress among doctors were: (Coordination of decisions within the team, the impact of work in my personal life, lack of time to perform the entire job, the system of shifts affects my family and my personal life, and lack of sleep).

While the major sources of psychological stress,among nurses were: ( expectation of a call for help from patient, Bad working conditions, dealing with cases of death of the patient, lack of sleep, working hours affect my family and my personal life).

the results showed that there is statistically significant differences among doctors and nurses in psychological stress, job satisfaction, and depression due to sex and type of hospital and experience.

and there is a relationship between psychological stress and both of job satisfaction and depression
