Abstract EN

The purpose of the current study was to identify physical education pre-service teachers' perspectives toward their new future roles as stated by physical education curricula that based on knowledge economy in the globalization world.

The sample consisted of 71 undergraduate students from Faculty of Physical Education at The University of Jordan.

The participants who enrolled in a required undergraduate course of curriculum of physical education class were selected purposely.

The results of data analysis indicated that all new future roles of physical education teachers were important for pre-service teachers ; also, there were significant differences between the pre and post tests on the four dimensions of the scale and the overall scale.

The participants ranked the dimensions from the most to the least important as follows : the students characteristics and abilities improvement, students class participation and school activities, the using of variance manipulative and new teaching styles, and primary planning for learning process.

The results also showed that no significant differences were indicated between the female group and the male group on the four dimensions of the scale and the overall scale.
