The Orientalism study between yesterday and today Abstract: We aim, through the analysis of a set of complementary elements, to study the phenomenon of Orientalism, with no claim to understand or to exhaust the subject.

In fact, the discussion about Orientalism is vast.

The reason that pushes us to talk about it is the observation of the dynamic and abundant Orientalist writings.

Moreover, could we not see that Islam is actually becoming the favorite theme debated in Western media? This is the result of the great focus given on the news from the Islamic world, the existence of Islamic minorities in Western countries, without forgetting the tense relationship with Islam after the 9/11 and the dissemination of theories as the end of history and the clash of civilizations.

We observe that many researchers talked about Orientalism.

This is why this field is very prolific, diverse and varied.

It seems that Western countries are going to rediscover Islam.

Now, Orientalism tends to specialize under different sub-domains.

We present here briefly the concept of Orientalism, its methods, its theories and the position of Muslim scholars upon receiving the results of the orientalist activity.

Finally, in our study, we will underline if the Orientalism research is different or similar to what we already know of orientalist literature in terms of content and research methods.

So, we try to show the nature of Orientalism between yesterday and today.
