Abstract EN

This stylistics study aims at clarifying the style of Nizar Qabbani in his poetry of love, in particular that of women.

It attempts to discover his true character and identify his mood and attitude about women especially as he is called the poet of women.

The study focuses on language, diction, and semantics.

It identifies the different verb forms, their meaning, significance and the explicit or implied meaning they reflect.

It draws on stylistics and its use of diction as a means of deducing meaning and identifying the intended meaning that stems from the poet's emotions and his use of language.

The study tackles the rhythmic patterns in Qabbani’s poems and their significance in strengthening meaning and exciting emotions.

These patterns are created by repeating certain poetic words within the same poem, the use of refrain and incremental repetition, the use of resonant rhythms in the music of poetry, and others.
