Abstract EN

Human- factors engineering (HFE) can be seen as one of the main study areas in management that deals with improving human resources conditions.

Besides making employees aware of their rights and the advantages they can benefit from, HFE ensures safety and protection from any risks and injuries for all the workers and provides them with safe working conditions adapted to their skills to the benefice of both the company and the employees.

But in the mean time, satisfying the needs of employees and providing them with higher level of life-satisfaction are primary objectives of the social dimension of what is known nowadays as corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Consequently, by implementing HFE techniques, companies may find the key solution to achieving the social objectives of CSR towards their employees and thereby enhance their motivation, commitment and productivity All of this are important and will have a positive impact on the company’s reputation and competitiveness.

Hence, while recognizing the importance of all the above aspects, this paper has as a main objective to focus on the relation that may link HFE as a process to CSR and its ensuing results.

All this is done through a case study of one the most important companies producing cement in Algeria: Ain El Kébira cement company (SCAEK).
