Abstract EN

This paper tackles the prevalence of the Lam in Arabic.

It began with the definition of the concept of phonemes prevalence and its degrees; then described the most prevalent phonemes that are called the tip of the tongue phonemes.

Then, moved to the description of the most prevalent phoneme the Lam, and its ratio in Arabic by giving arguments.

I also studied how this prevalence is related to Lam phonetic features.

The results of this research are then compared with the statistics that dealt with language corpora; and the linguistic fields where the Lam phoneme is used are also identified.

The research is concluded with the most important results achieved.
