The insurance sector in Algeria is still, after half a century of independence, suffering from functional, sectorial and localized dysfunctions.

Despite the law arsenal that was adopted in order to regulate this sector, these dysfunctions persist, causing a negative impact on the development of this sector.

Although this sector has recorded an increasing annual growth in terms of numbers and revenues, but its great dysfunctions persist such as the domination.

Moreover this sector is showing many weakness indices, such as a weak proportion of access a low insurance density and so on, which places Algeria in a lower rank compared to other countries.

This situation confirms the lack of motivation among the potential insured in seeking insurance services.

This is reflected by a weak insurance density and a low proportion of access and low global revenues, the average individual revenue and the GNP.

These values can be a good measure of the development of this sector , They are tools for diagnosing the state of the sector with a économic vision
