This study aimed at uncovering the effect of using the strategies of guided imagery and problem solving in the development of creative thinking among the eighth grade students in the field of Islamic education in Jordan.

In this study, the researcher followed the semi-experimental method.

The school was chosen for its suitability to the study conditions and its proximity to the researcher.

The control and experimental groups were randomly assigned to the school.

Three classes of the eighth grade students were selected at the first Madaba Secondary Boys School for the academic year 2017/2018.

Class (A) which was composed of (27) students studied in a guided imagery manner, and class (b) which consisted of (25) students studied in problem solving method, class (c) which was the control group and the number of its members was 24 students studied in the usual manner.

The study used the Torrance test for creative thinking (verbal imageA).

In order to achieve the objective of the study, the researcher applied the test of creative thinking in its dimensions (fluency, flexibility, originality) to the sample members in the experimental and control groups, and then the data were collected and analyzed statistically.

The results of the study revealed the existence of a statistical significance of the level (a = 0.05) in the level of development of creative thinking.

The results of the study revealed the existence of the statistical significance of the level (a = 0.05) in the level of development of creative thinking and for the benefit of the experimental groups due to the strategy of guided imagery and problem solving strategy and the absence of statistically significant differences at the level of (a = 0.05) in the level of development of creative thinking skills between the use of the strategies of guided imagery and problem solving in the field of Islamic education for the eighth grade class.
