Abstract EN

The main concern of this study was related to the meanings of some particles and grammatical prepositions in the Arabic language in Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani’s book “Darj al-Dorar fi Tafseer al-Quran al-Kareem”.

The study also aimed to compare these meanings with other meanings as shown by other grammarians and exegetes.

The research is divided into an introduction and three chapters.

A thorough biogeography of Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani was included in the introduction; the first chapter related to the origin of the book “Darj al-Dorar fi Tafseer al-Quran al-Kareem” to the author.

The second chapter was meant to investigate and discuss the meanings of Arabic grammatical particles; it was divided into two sections: I) the meanings of the particle “or”, II) the meanings of the particle ((َّ ثم” then”.

The third chapter discussed the meanings of prepositions and was divided into three parts: a) the meanings of “to”, b) the meaning of “the second letter of the Arabic alphabet”, and the meaning of “from”.

The researcher found that these particles and prepositions play a significant role in identifying a lot of provisions of Islamic Sharia’a that depend mainly on the understanding of the meanings of these particles and prepositions.

The researcher recommended that further studies should be conducted in this field.
