This research paper is an attempt to make a modest contribution to the knowledge of the role played by gender in linguistics variation in Iraqi Arabic speaking society considering linguistics and literary aspects.

It also sheds some light on the main ideas involved in three parts, gender and language, the approaches to gendered speech, and a distinction between the conversation of males and females.

Twenty-three students (11 females and 12 males) from the fourth stage in the Department of English language, College of Arts, University of Kufa have been subjected by giving them a list of French words that have opposing genders in their languages and asked to describe each word in Arabic and determine whether those words are masculine or feminine.
