There have been diverse contrast views of the Arab linguistics researchers in defining the term, transliterated as "tadawoolia", "pragmatic" because of their backgrounds diversity, and the intellectual references they proceed from.

One of these views chose the term "deliberation" as opposed to the term "pragmatic" considering its significance on two issues: use and interaction together.

Another one recommended the approach of the Arabic language sciences, according to an optimal functional theory, Another point of view is that the correlation of the linguistic structure to the field of use is the criterion that is should be adopted in defining its concept as a new science of communication that studies linguistic phenomena in the field of use.

Whereas another view prefers to translate the term "pragmatics" with usage or communication science, because it conforms to the usage of the ancient Arab scholars.

The term usage refers to the activity of the speaker in the process of communication.

However, these concepts and terminology are all related to the idea of use.

Others have used a diversity of terms, and contrasting each other sometimes, such as expediency, utilitarian, deliberative, pragmatic, functional, contextual, hierarchical, communicative, interchangeable, communicative, etc.

This diversity, in our opinion, is due to the non-distinction between literal meaning and deliberative meaning.

This is due to the fact that, these terms have differences that do not allow their use to be synonymous with the foreign term in its practical sens
