Abstract EN

The study aims to explore the impact of political events on the embroidery of the Palestinian woman traditional dress in the period 1900 - 2000.

The researcher opted the historical method since it suits the purpose of the study.

The results showed that the embroidery of the Palestinian dress was impacted slightly by the political events except for the “Intifada Dress” which embroidery changed radically.

The impact of political events can be categorized into two types; first, the creation of new embroideries; second, changing some of the traditional names of embroideries to new names to match the political events.

The results showed that, among other types, only the dress made with “the peasantry stitch” (cross stitch) was impacted by the political events.

At the end of the study, the researcher introduced a number of suggestions and recommendations.
