This study aimed to know the reality of Islamic studies teachers in developing self-directed learning skills, and the studysample included (133) secondary school teachers, who were randomized.

The researcher followed the descriptive analytical approach, adopted a measure of self-directed learning skills as a tool for study, and used the arithmetic mean to find the degree of the reality of the teachers in developing self-directed learning skills, and the ANOVA test to find statistically significant differences according to the variable of practical experience and the scientific degree, and the researcher reached a very high degree in the development Self-directed learning skills, and the degree of female teachers in developing skills related to teaching methods is very high, while the degree of female teachers in developing skills related to the educational process is high, also there are no statistically significant differences attributable to the variable Practical experience or scientific degree.
