Abstract EN

The study aimed to investigate the effect of the reciprocal teaching strategy on the grammatical understanding and the written instruction of the ninth grade students in the schools of the capital Amman.

The study was chosen for the study of a sample of 60 students of the ninth grade who are studying at the Qweismah secondary school for boys during the first semester 2017/2018 , Divided into two groups, a pilot consisting of (30) students studied using the strategy of cross-teaching, and a control of( 30) students and studied in the usual way.

The researcher also prepared a test in grammatical understanding and a test in the written expression and verified the validity and stability of these tests The results of the study showed statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05 = a) between the experimental group and the control group in grammar comprehension skills, written expression skills, and the interest of the experimental group.

The researcher recommended employing the reciprocal teaching strategy in the grammatical understanding and written expression of the ninth grade students.
