Abstract EN

The present research aimed testing the effectiveness of a teaching strategy based on the theory of information processing in developing reading skills for study and functional writing skills of secondary school students.

To achieve the research objectives, a teaching strategy was prepared based on the theory of information processing (teacher guide - student worksheets).

Also a reading skills for study and a functional writing skills tests were conducted.

The research sample consisted of (32) first grade secondary students in Dairout Umm Nakhla secondary school at Mallawi Educational Administration - Minya Governorate.

The sample of the study sat for the pre-posttests. The results revealed statistically significant differences at (0.05) between the mean scores of reading skills for study test, and functional writing skills test in favor post-testing.
