The current study aimed at investigating the use of audiobook- based activities to develop EFL secondary stage female students' critical listeningskills and their attitude towards critical listening.
The researcher used a quasi-experimental design.
The study was conducted during the second term in the academic year 2017/ 2018.
The sample of the study included one experimental group of first year secondary stage.
The group consisted of 34 students.
Instruments of the study were a critical listening skills questionnaire to determine the most important critical listening skills appropriate for first year secondary stage students, a pre- post administration critical listening test and pre- post administration critical listening attitude scale.
Statistical analyses of students' performance revealed a significant difference between the experimental group students' mean score on the critical listening test pre and post-administration favoring the post-administration.
Additionally, Further, the analysis of the critical listening attitude scale revealed that the students had a positive attitude towards critical listening and using audiobooks.
