The present study aims at developing college students' writing performance in the light of using problem based learning.
This study employed the one group experimental design along with mixed research approach incorporating quantitative and qualitative analyses.
She carried out a training program that included 115 TEFL students in Al Azhar University in the academic year 2018-2019 in the Gaza strip.
The researcher's instruments included a writing performance rubric and a pre/post writing language performance test.
During the study, the students received learning their lessons contents through using some problem solving activities which included searching and exploring.
The results revealed that the students developed better written performance as they enhanced their problem solving abilities.
The researcher recommends the following: Incorporating the problem solving approach in all language classroom.
Choosing topics that appeal to students' interest and background knowledge.
Presenting materials based on internet search to simulate students' problem solving abilities.
Participating in oral and written activities as highly appreciated practices of learners-
