Questioning the role of the draft paper in the school writing, the objective of this article is to classify, analyze and interpret the data collected from grade 4 students via a questionnaire.
a particular attention in this investigation is paid to the conception and representation of this didactic tool which is part of an intermediate writing, in a process of improving the writing to overcome the difficulties of scriptural activity.
in the school environment, the draft paper appears as the privileged space for multiple actions and modifications, and whose use by middle school students is always questioned.

S'interrogeant sur le rôle du brouillon dans la rédaction scolaire, le présent article se donne pour objectif de classer, analyser et interpréter les données recueillies auprès des élèves de la 4 année moyenne via un questionnaire.
une attention particulière dans cette enquête est prêtée à la conception et la représentation de cet outil didactique qui s'inscrit comme un écrit intermédiaire, dans une démarche de perfectionnement de l'écriture pour pallier les difficultés de l'activité scripturale.
dans le milieu scolaire, le brouillon apparait comme l'espace privilégie de multiples actions et modifications et dont l'usage par les collégiens est toujours remis en question.
