Abstract AR

Abstract EN

This study examined the effect of a repeated reading strategy on improving reading fluency (reading rate and reading accuracy) and decreasing reading anxiety among female undergraduate students of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners at Northern Border University in Saudi Arabia.

The study sample comprised of 80 female students divided into an experimental group (n = 40) and a control group (n = 40).

Reading fluency measures and English as a Foreign Language Reading Anxiety Inventory (EFLRAI) were the instruments employed.

The findings were that the experimental group outperformed the control group in reading accuracy.

Furthermore, the experimental group showed significant differences in their pre- and post-test scores for reading rate, accuracy, and anxiety.

However, there were no significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the reading rate.
