English Abstract

This study aimed in investigating the impact of using virtual language lab on developing listening and speaking skills among fifth graders.

Methodology: To achieve this purpose the researcher chose a purposive sample from Al-Arqam Private school west-Gaza.

The researcher used the quasi-experimental design.

The experiment was applied on two groups of 50 fifth grade students (Female); an experimental group and a control one.

Consequently, the researcher designed the tools of the study, which are represented by a test and an observation card, which were used to evaluate and observe the response and the performance of the students.

The researcher implemented the experiment, and then she analyzed the data after applying the test and the observation card.

Results: The study results indicates that virtual language lab was effective in developing 5th graders listening and speaking skills.

This was clear in the statistically significant differences in the post test and post observation for the experiment and control groups in listening and speaking skills.

Conclusion: This study adds a new finding that is related to developing not only listening and speaking skills, but also other skills like reading and writing skills.

The researcher does recommend2 that more research should be dedicated to examine the role of virtual language lab in the process of improving other language aspects and skills.
