The study aimed to identify the level of statistical thinking among students of the second stage in the college of basic education, the researcher followed the descriptive research method and the study population consisted of all second stage students at the University of Maysan.

their number is (1060) male and female students, (596) female students and (464) male students from the second stage for the first semester of the academic year (2021/2022).

as for the study sample, it consisted of (290) male and female students who were selected in a systematic manner from the study population, including (145) male and (145) male and female students.

after applying the tools to the basic sample of the second stage students and using the appropriate statistical methods, the following results were reached : there is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the hypothetical mean of the test and the arithmetic mean of the students' scores in the statistical thinking skills test and in favor of the hypothetical mean.
