Scombroid fish poisoning, or sccmbroioxin poisoning occurs people eat scombroid or seontbroid-like fish that have been care handled and permitted to build up biogenic amines panic histamine, as a consequence of bacterial spoilage.

A level for histamine of 5 mg/lOOg (50 ppm) b recommended for assuring the consumption of such fish, while a level of ; ,500-4,000 mg hist; causes severe incidence.

Symptoms such as headache, nausea, vom diarrhoea, itching, oral burning sensation, ied rash and hypotensio common in such cases.

Rapid cooling of fish is of value to pr formation of biogenic amines.
